BERLIN, April 11 (Xinhua) -- Chinese and German relationship is very promising, German expert Hermann Simon, also known as the father of the "hidden champions" theory, commented in a recent interview with Xinhua.
"There is a lot of potential for cooperation between Germany and China," Simon said.
According to the honorary chairman of Simon-Kucher & Partners Strategy & Marketing Consultants, Chinese enterprises are interested in infrastructure, technical products and are good at producing them.
"They are very diligent in manufacturing. They are in really good shape, very modern," Simon said, adding that the Belt and Road Initiative will improve the relationship and logistics between two countries.
In addition, the marketing professor said Chinese companies, willing to invest in Germany, should hire a German manager and have a middleman who can speak both German and Chinese.
"It seems so far that the language is still a barrier," Simon said.
On the basis of respecting local habits, he encouraged companies, which have already achieved success in their own market, to try to compete in other markets confidently.
According to Simon's criteria, "hidden champions" are relatively small but highly successful companies with its annual turnover less than 5 billion U.S. dollars. They are usually inconspicuous and invisible to the public.
