AMMAN, April 19 (Xinhua) -- King Abdullah II of Jordan and Finnish President Alexander Stubb held talks in Amman on Sunday, focusing on bolstering bilateral ties and coordinating responses to regional crises, according to a statement released by the Royal Hashemite Court.

Addressing regional stability, the king stressed the importance of maintaining the ceasefire between the United States and Iran to end the war, urging follow-up diplomatic measures to reduce tensions. On the situation in Lebanon, the king stated that the ceasefire must put an end to Israel's aggression, reiterating Jordan's support for Lebanon's sovereignty.

The king issued a call to the international community to stop Israel's attempts to exploit regional conditions to "impose new facts on the ground" in Jerusalem, Gaza, and the West Bank. He warned that such actions undermine peace prospects and threaten to plunge the region into perpetual conflict.

The king noted that the two nations have maintained steady relations for over 60 years. He characterized the president's visit as a strategic opportunity to explore new cooperation in education and technology.

Stubb, for his part, noted the similarity of security challenges faced by both nations and highlighted their shared pursuit of stability through solutions-oriented peace mediation.
