MEXICO CITY, June 3 (Xinhua) -- Brazilian manager Andre Jardine has parted ways with Club America after three years in charge, the Mexican top flight club said on Wednesday.
The announcement followed the club's quarterfinal defeat to Pumas UNAM in the Liga MX Clausura tournament last month.
"Andre Jardine concludes his successful spell with Club America. You became the most successful head coach in the club's history and your legacy will remain permanently etched in our history," the club said in a statement.
Jardine, 46, led the club to three successive league titles and three other trophies during his tenure with an overall record of 85 wins, 41 draws and 36 losses.
Local media reported that Uruguayan coach Guillermo Almada was the favorite to replace Jardine. ■
