ISLAMABAD, June 4 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan remains committed to ongoing peace efforts and will not lose hope despite challenges in the process, Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said on Thursday.
Speaking at a weekly media briefing, Andrabi said Pakistan, acting as a facilitator, would continue supporting regional peace initiatives despite recent setbacks.
"The situation, especially after the recent attacks, is still very delicate, but we remain part of the peace process," he said.
The spokesperson also rejected what he called baseless media reports alleging that Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar shared intelligence on Iran with the United States, saying recent Pakistan-U.S. contacts focused on regional peace, stability and diplomacy.
Andrabi reiterated that Pakistan's position on the Abraham Accords remains unchanged, reaffirming support for an independent and viable Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. ■
